SISMeR is a 3rd level MAP Centre. This means it is able to provide all MAP techniques permitted by Italian law.

The Gynaecology Service operates in all areas of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the lower reproductive tract. It also involves the Gynaecological Oncology area.

These services deal with the diagnosis and medical/surgical treatment of male health problems concerning sexual and reproductive functions. The main conditions treated include: infertility, azoospermia, variocele, erectile dysfunction, loss of sex drive, premature ejaculation, penile curvature, hydrocele, phimosis and short frenulum.

Prenatal diagnostics includes procedures for recognising or excluding the presence of congenital abnormalities in the foetus.
At S.I.S.Me.R. prenatal diagnostic analyses are performed by the Prenatal Medicine Unit.

The MAP Lab performs all 1st, 2nd and 3rd Medically-Assisted Procreation techniques. These techniques are an essential part of the treatment cycles and cannot be performed otherwise, consequently they must be booked and prescribed at the same time.

SISMeR has had an Ophthalmology Service for over ten years.
The operating theatre of SISMeR’s Bologna centre is equipped so that all the main eye surgery procedures can be performed under day hospital conditions.

The Cough Study and Treatment Centre, which was founded in Bologna in 1996, is the first facility in Europe to deal exclusively with the cough problem.

S.I.S.Me.R.’ s orthopaedics service provides specialist consultations related to all problems and pathologies of the musculoskeletal system.
