Best Practices of ASRM and ESHRE
L’American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) e la European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) hanno il piacere di annunciare il loro primo meeting congiunto dal titolo “Best Practices of ASRM and ESHRE” , che si terrà dall’1 al 3 Marzo 2012 a Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Questo evento inaugurerà una serie di meetings annuali che saranno organizzati in diverse località turistiche europee e americane, per incoraggiare la partecipazione di specialisti da entrambi i continenti.
Gli obiettivi formativi e gli argomenti trattati includono salute riproduttiva sia maschile che femminile, biologia della riproduzione, infertilità, endocrinologia, chirurgia riproduttiva, menopausa, contraccezione, ginecologia pediatrica e adolescenziale, benessere psicologico, embriologia e andrologia.
Il programma comprende diversi formati di attività:
- Lezioni frontali;
- Sessioni back-to-back, durante le quali vari argomenti e tecniche saranno analizzati dai punti di vista “americano” ed “europeo”;
- Dibattiti, durante i quali due esperti discuteranno questioni controverse, illustrando diversi punti di vista, teorie e approcci;
- Cutting-edge lectures, con lo scopo di illustrare innovazioni e scoperte in medicina della riproduzione ed embriologia.
L’intento dei meeting è quello di fornire ai partecipanti la possibilità di:
- descrivere come attualmente la diagnosi e il trattamento dell’infertilità maschile e femminile includano approcci genetici, proteomici, metabolomici e pragmatici in aggiunta alle tradizionali indicazioni mediche e chirurgiche;
- discutere come tutte le figure professionali operanti nell’ambito dell’assistenza sanitaria interagiscano per la cura ottimale del paziente affetto da infertilità;
- identificare nuove strategie per l’incremento e la preservazione della fertilità;
- sintetizzare le diverse posizioni esistenti nel confronto tra la stimolazione ovarica e il ciclo naturale.
L’attività scientifica non sarà l’unica prerogativa di questi congressi, che consentiranno ai partecipanti di trascorrere anche momenti ricreativi e di socializzazione, grazie alle opportunità offerte dalle esclusive località selezionate.

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) are glad to announce the first joint meeting called “Best Practices of ASRM and ESHRE”, which will take place from the 1st to the 3rd March 2012 in Cortina d’Ampezzo, a world-famous ski resort in Italy.
This event will inaugurate a series of annual meetings to be organized in different European and American resorts, in order to encourage attendance from both continents.
Educational objectives and learning events in the meeting include both male and female reproductive health and science, infertility, reproductive endocrinology, reproductive organ surgery, menopause, contraception, pediatric and adolescent gynaecology, mental health, embryology and andrology.
The programme is composed by different activities:
- lectures;
- back-to-back sessions, during which different topics and practices will be analyzed from the “American” and the “European” points of view;
- debates, during which two experts will discuss controversial issues and will illustrate different points of view, theories and approaches;
- cutting-edge lectures, aiming to illustrate innovations and new findings in reproductive medicine and embryology.
The purpose of the meetings is to enable the participants to:
- describe how the modern assessment and treatment of clinical male and female reproductive dysfunction includes genetic, proteomic, metabolomic, and evidence-based approaches in addition to traditional medical and surgical concepts;
- discuss how all members of the health care team interact for the optimal care of the patient with reproductive illness;
- identify new strategies for enhancement and preservation of fertility;
- summarize the evidence comparing ovarian stimulation with natural cycle IVF.
Work will not be the only feature of “Best Practices of ASRM and ESHRE”: these meetings will also provide participants with the opportunity to socialize with colleagues and to enjoy a variety of leisure activities offered by the selected venues.
