AZH
What is it?
The AZH (Assisted Zona Hatching) procedure consists in making a small opening in the zona pellucida of the embryo immediately before it is transferred into the uterus.
The purpose is to facilitate the hatching of the embryo and its implantation inside the uterus.
Useful information
The zona pellucida is the layer of glycoprotein that covers the oocyte and that must be penetrated by the male gamete in order to obtain fertilisation.
