What is it?

It is an ultrasound scan performed at around the 14th – 16th week using high-quality ultrasound equipment, in order to perform an initial complete foetal morphology study. Under optimum conditions, this technique can allow the observance of many structural abnormalities that have developed by this time.

Useful information

A pre-morphological ultrasound study is recommended above all in pregnancies at risk of certain malformations (especially of the heart) or pregnancies defined as being at risk following a combined test, but with a normal karyotype.
